Edit

The A 26 is the top of the line bookshelf speaker in Boston Acoustics' A series with 6 1/2" woofers making it the largest and most powerful in this line. All other features remain unchanged from the smaller A 25 and A 23 versions including the Boston Acoustics Kortec 1" soft dome tweeter common to all and the gold plated 5-way binding posts making them compatible with any type of speaker wire including pins, spade connections, dual and single banana plugs and bare wire. This speaker also has the lowest frequency response of 51Hz owing to the larger woofers, while the highest frequency it is capable of reproducing is the same in all three in this series at 25kHz. These are designed for listening to stereo recordings as a pair, or you can add them to a multichannel home theater system as front or side channels. Internally they employ DCD or 'Deep Channel Design' along with internal bracing of the bass and high chambers for improved audio imaging and bass response, and the magnetic grille covers further reduce audio interference. High contrast black gloss finish is also scratch resistant, and textured leatherette panels have been added for extra appeal. The smallerA 23 and A 25 models are otherwise identical and may be an alternative if you plan to integrate with a home theater that already has a subwoofer and center channel.
