Frequently Asked Questions
Is it weather proof.
I've been caught in the rain twice , I thought the the speakers would have filled up with water, but they didnt, I put a silicon bead around the amp itself, as I have it mounted under the forks, no problems so far, but I've only had it a week.I personally also recommend adding a line conditioner/ surge device along with the switch you will need, reason being, when you are listening to the music and then turn the bike on, it buzzes and pops, and does it again when you start the bike....it was the same problem with the reconditioned amp they sold me as new that fried... so right now, I start the bike, flick the switch to turn it on and it's a smoother on the amp as the buzz and popping does not happen.
What are the exact dimensions of the amp?
About 2" tall 3.5 wide and 4" long, hope that helps.
I have a custom lowrider bicycle dose it sounds loud and would a 12v atv battery will work
At 80mph still loud enough to listen while cruising down freeway to work. As long as it's a 12V battery you're golden. Most power sports batteries are rated around 15Ah (amp hours). Depends on the device being powered the Ah rating means if your device requires 15amps to operate, the battery will power it for approximately an hour (that is if it can discharge at such a high rate without exploding). The Boss MC400 draws a little less than 1/2 an amp (500mA). A fully charged battery will run this system 25 to 30 hours without requiring charging.
