The stainless steel thermal carafe keeps your coffee warm for longer versus a conventional glass carafe. The easy-to-fill water tank has a wide opening and clear markings for exact water filling, and the unique boiler heater releases water only when it achieves an ideal coffee brewing temperature of 200-205 degrees F.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is it good for smaller batches

It's actually great for smaller batches. Just make sure that you adhere to the proper ratio when brewing: two level tablespoons ground coffee to every 6oz water and your coffee will be rich and bold.

  • Does thermal carafe implode?

So far, under normal use and following the directions, it has not imploded. I wash it every couple of weeks with warm water, dish soap, and the included soft scrubby. It keeps the coffee hot for hours. So far I'm very happy with going the thermal carafe route vs. the glass carafe. And the thermal carafe version does not have a hot plate.

  • Is it possible to adjust the length of the brew cycle beyond 5-6 minutes? If so, what is the maximum?

No. It's fast, extremely hot...perfect brew every time. It's according to how much water you put in as to how long the time it takes. http://www.bonavitaworld.com/products/cm2.asp
