The GeForce 8500 GT GPU is part of the lower end budget cards that cater to people that want a dedicated graphics solution, without breaking the bank. This card from BFG Tech combines the GPU with 256MB of memory and connects to your computer through the PCIe interface. nVidia has made this GPU especially for Vista incorporating the latest graphics technology including DirectX10 support and Shader Model 4.

Well suited for home theater PCs, the graphics card unloads all the video processing from the processor allowing for high definition video to be played back without a powerful CPU. Video output is accomplished through the one of the two DVI-I outs, which are not HDCP enabled. This means that protected high definition content from Blu-Ray discs and HD-DVD discs will not work. The pricier 8600 GT is the card that supports these playback options.

I have the 8600 - figured no point in getting an 8500 (I also have an 8800 GTS :P)

I tried looking it up. Not sure. Maybe "Big F***in' Gun"? ;) BFG

What the hell does BFG stand for? I always thought of it as Big Friendly Giant, like the little kid book, but really, what does it mean.
