The Belkin Play is a wireless gigabit router. This is the precursor to the Belkin Play Max, and has all of the same features as the upgraded model with two exceptions: it only has 1 USB connection, and it uses a simplified 64/128 bit WEP system for security. They share the same maximum speed of 300Mbps through a dual-band networking system, using the 802.11a/b/g/n standards. The USB port can connect a storage device or printer and share it directly to the network. Firewall implementations like NAT and SPI ensure that those outside of the network cannot access these devices. Traffic can be prioritized to ensure that specific items can get the bandwidth they need, and Torrent downloads are supported to allow downloading even when the PC is off or in standby. Media streaming from a storage device to hardware such as an XBox 360 or Playstation 3 is also fully supported.
