Frequently Asked Questions
How many harvests are you guys getting? I'm looking at this from an economic standpoint -- so is it cheaper than buying mushrooms at the grocers?
The number of harvests is clearly stated: one from the one front panel and one from the opposite back panel. The size of the harvests will depend upon following the instructions exactly, and your luck in possibly getting two harvests from one side or both. The instructions make no mention of multiple harvest. From my experience the instructions are fool-proof, and the pictures reasonably show the size of the harvest you might expect.
Should this be kept inside the home or in the garage? How long does a batch typically take to grow? What recipes do you use them in?
I did the exact same as lukywest did. So much fun to watch how fast they grow right before your eyes.
What other types of mushrooms are there?
Back to the Roots only sells oyster mushroom. Other sites offer Shiitakes too.
