The Radeon HD 5830 is a mid-range graphics card from AMD, released in early 2010. This DirectX 11-capable card is features a core clock at 800MHz, a memory clock at 1000MHz and fits into one free PCI-E 2.1 x16 slot. The ATI Radeon HD 5870 Eyefinity 6 is a step up with 2GB of memory and support for 6 external displays.  All manufacturer variations of this card include 1GB of memory, which is rated for 4.0 Gbps worth of data throughput. At idle, the Radeon HD 5830 will consume approximately 25 watts of energy, while under a full load users will see it spike to around 175 watts. As an Eyefinity multi-display card, up to three separate monitors can be connected for those requiring extra visual real estate. CrossFireX, AMD’s multi-GPU technology is also supported, meaning the Radeon HD 5830 can be used for dual, triple or quad GPU scaling. The Radeon HD 5830 is compatible with Windows 7, Vista and XP.
