The Asus Eee Slate EP121 is a tablet PC to be released in the first quarter of 2011. Designed to compete with the Apple iPad, the Eee Slate tablet runs on the Windows 7 operating system. The EP121 is powered by an Intel Core i5-470UM processor, features an IPS capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 1280x800. A mini HMDI port is also found on the slate to allow users to connect the device to their TVs. Critics say that the EP121 is geared to function as a full-fledged PC, as it can be used to playback audio/video content, read eBooks, browse the Internet and process documents. Additional features include an integrated 2.0MP front-facing camera, Bluetooth 3.0, one USB port, either 32GB or 64GB hard drive and a 10-hour rechargeable Lithium-ion battery.

What's the likelihood of next generation hardware to update this model? and if so when? Sandybridge? ULV Sandybridge? One note and artrage capabilities are attractive as is the screen territory.
