The Asus NX90JQ is a high-end 18.4" entertainment laptop. It first attracted attention at CES 2010 for its distinctive, though less-than-portable design, featuring dual trackpads and Bang & Olufsen speakers above and on either side of the screen, and will be released alongside the 15.6" N53JQ and 17.3" N73JQ in late summer. The range of available components is mostly identical across the three models, all intended to provide exceptional performance for a notebook computer. The NX90JQ, however, is the only model with a full-HD, 1920x1080 screen resolution. Buyers can choose one of three quad-core, Turbo Boost-enabled Intel Core i7 CPUs, and between 8 and 12GB of RAM. Optical drive options include a Blu-ray reader or burner, while an HDMI port allows HD video to be output to larger displays. A 1GB Nvidia GeForce GT 335M GPU enables adequate gaming performance. To prevent overheating, several thermal-compound cooling options are offered for both the GPU and CPU. Bluetooth is standard, as is USB 3.0 connectivity, which multiplies USB 2.0 bandwidth by a factor of more than six. The laptop is equipped with two hard drive bays, and is available with up to 512GB of solid-state storage.
