The P6X58D-E is a high-end ATX motherboard from Asus, released in mid-2010. This gaming board features is compatible with 6-core Intel processors, supports SATA 6 Gb/s hard drives and totes USB 3.0 connectivity. Various overclocking features come standard in addition to multi-GPU support.
This board is exactly the same as the Asus P6X58D Premium, but with built-in RAID support. Both 4 and 6 core Intel Core i7 processors can be installed into the P6X58D’s LGA1366 socket. As a gamer motherboard, overclocking is well supported with its 16+2 phase power design. This technology promotes power stability and lowers temperatures in the process. Up to 3 video cards can be used in NVIDIA SLI mode, while a quad card setup can be utilized in ATi’s CrossFireX configuration. Next generation SATA 6 Gb/s is also supported, giving the 2 connections about twice the data transfer performance of the previous generation. USB 3.0 also comes standard, giving users an approximate 10x boost over the two included ports.
