The Asus P5N72-T Premium is a powerful high-end motherboard which supports tri-SLI through the NVIDIA nForce 780i SLI chipset. The motherboard supports all LGA 775 socket processors in turn meaning it supports Intel Quad-core, Core 2 Extreme, Core 2 Duo and Pentium CPUs with a max FSB of 1600MHz (Overclocked) or 1333MHz (normally). The motherboard also includes 4 240 pin DDR2 DIMM slots for support with dual channel DDR2 1200MHz (Overclocked) or 1066 MHz ram modules up to 8GB maximum. For SLI mode the P5N72 features 3 PCI-E Gen 2.0 x16 slots which operate as x16, x16, x8 speeds under tri-SLI mode. The board also includes a dual gigabit LAN for double network connection speed, as well as 6 USB 2.0 slots with an extra onboard USB connector for adding 4 additional slots. Extra peripheral ports also include 6 SATA 2 3GB/s ports with RAID 0/1/0+1/5/JBOD support, 8 channel analog audio outputs, IEEE 1394a, ATA100, and Optical and Coaxial S/PDIF Outputs. The P5N72 was released on May 15, 2008 and has an MSRP price of $249.

ASUS makes good products in general (intuitive unlike other name brand designers) and sells it cheep, long time user of ASUS products and very satisfied

lack of quality check, on board lan port was DOA no lights. problem with PCI-e x1 interface, board does not recognize presence of PCI-e NIC at times even though the card is being supplied power(leds are blinking away). Removing the card and reinserting the card is a fix till it happens again. (speculates similar thing happens with PCI interface for wireless card as wireless connection drops and does not come back, requiring reboot)
