The Asus M4A77T is a low-end motherboard. It is designed to house the components of a PC. It features Core Unlocker technology, an Asus EPU, and a Turbo Key. The Core Unlocker enables the user to activate unused cores within the CPU. This not only boosts performance, but makes the PC more efficient as well. The Asus EPU (Energy Processing Unit) monitors power in real time. By doing this, as well as checking PC settings, it provides an appropriate amount of power that saves energy and money. The Turbo Key gives the user a switch that lets them automatically overclock a CPU. This allows for far greater system performance, as well as being easier for the user than overclocking normally. The Asus M4A77T has another version known as the Asus M4A77T/USB3, which has the same specs but includes USB 3.0 technology. When compared to another Asus motherboard, the M4A77TD Pro, the M4A77T has some disadvantages, including the lack of technologies such as "SATA on the Go".
