The passive cooler is much better than the low profile versions', it keeps the temperature at an acceptable level even during gaming, unlike its counter part shooting up to 85C

Includes both low profile and standard brackets, adds flexibility for buyers

Don't expect much gaming performance from a card that is hindered by the 64-bit bus and 256MB of VRAM

1 agrees

Has driver issues, incompatibility with Linux, newer drivers might not even work in Windows

1 agrees

No HDMI out, cannot pass both audio and video through the card, shouldn't be a problem for users with dedicated sound card that has SPDIF out

1 agrees

Not low profile, will not fit into more compact builds

The Asus EAH3450 is a video card built for using your computer as a part of your home theater system. It uses a silent cooling system, and has composite video outputs (via an included adapter) in order to support high-definition displays. It has a smaller amount of memory, making it suitable only for casual gamers.

The processor itself is a 600MHz ATI Radeon HD 3450. It works with 256MB of DDR2 memory which has a clock speed of 1GHz, but only a 64-bit interface. The card fits in a standard PCI-E 2.0 slot, and has VGA, DVI-I, and HDTV outputs.

Model Variations

The standard EAH3450/HTP/256M model is also paired with a EAH3450/HTP/512M model. This version has 512MB of memory operating at a slightly diminished speed of 800MHz, but is otherwise the exact same card.
