The Archos Helmet Cam is a camera, microphone and screen combination built to be attached to a helmet. The wired camera is small and slim in order to keep from weighing the helmet down, and is controlled by a simple push-button control to start and stop recording. The camera is sensitive enough to handle low light recording, and video is saved directly in MPEG-4 format in 640x480 resolution to an internal hard drive. The attached screen allows slow motion playback of saved footage at 1/2, 1/4 or 1/8 speeds, as well as enabling frame-by-frame advancement. Clips can then be edited directly within the device, cutting out unwanted footage.
