The Apple Airport Extreme is a wireless broadband router, which allows users to share a broadband (Cable, DSL) internet connection across their home or small business network. Compatible with both Mac and PC systems, the Airport Extreme can be connected to an external hard drive via USB, sharing the hard drive’s contents across the network. Instead of a hard drive, a USB printer can also be connected to the router, allowing users to print wirelessly while on the network. The Airport extreme features Wireless-N technology, along with 3 Gigabit wired ethernet ports. Released January 2007, the Airport Extreme retails at $175.
