Pros

upgraded with Intel's Core i5 and i7 processors - much faster than the previous generation offering based on Core 2 Duo

8 agree

Amazing battery life

8 agree

standard 1440 x 900px resolution display can be upgraded to 1680 x 1050px for a reasonable $100

7 agree

Maintains the aluminum unibody construction

7 agree

upgraded Nvidia video card with customized Optimus-like technology (automatically selects which graphics card to use for best performance or power savings) - actually better than standard Optiumus due to the fact that it is based on the technologies used *not* fallible profiles, can disable both display adapters (not just the more powerful discrete card)

6 agree

Contains both integrated graphics and dedicated graphics card for performance and battery life

5 agree

802.11n wifi

9 agree

Price increase compared to previous models

way too expensive for what it is (poor value for the majority of consumers)

5 agree

too hot, can fry egg (cannot complete benchmark suite due to overheating)

5 agree

no quad core option

4 agree

No 1920 x 1200 resolution

4 agree

a minor upgrade (processor bump) over the previous generation offering

3 agree

late to the party - most manufacturers have released their Core i3 / i5 / i7 based notebooks a long time ago

2 agree

Mini DisplayPort needs adapters to connect to anything (and each adapter costs extra $$)

2 agree

Only 512 MB RAM for the video card

2 agree

glossy plastic screen as standard option - looks cheap, gets scratched and shows off fingerprints easily

Edit

The Apple MacBook Pro 15-inch is one of two MacBook Pro options (Apple MacBook Pro 15-inch, Apple MacBook Pro 17-inch) released in April 2010. They are both carved from a single block of aluminum (unibody) and host a 'new' energy-efficient architecture that delivers up to 10 hours of battery life per a single charge. Featured on the 15” is an Intel Core i5 or i7 processor, up to 8GB of DDR3 RAM, and up to a 500GB SATA HDD. One of its most touted features is a discrete Nvidia GeForce GT 330M processor that can be turned off (switch to integrated Intel HD graphics) on a whim to save battery life. Plus the Mini DisplayPort can supports VGA, DVI, and HDMI displays, although optional adapters are required. Additional features include a multi-touch trackpad, curved keyboard keys that better fit the fingers and an LED-backlit display with wide-angle viewing.
