Cons

cannot compare to the TrackPoint / keyboard nipple when it comes to convenience and comfort (especially when using the keyboard a lot)

3 agree

not as comfortable to use as a mouse - where does your wrist rest?

2 agree

large size is potentially awkward to place in relation to the keyboard - should be placed below and center for optimal two handed use (like on a laptop), but will put the keyboard at an uncomfortable distance

1 agrees

doesn't provide the same accuracy that a mouse does (difficult to use for gaming)

1 agrees

high price for a mouse replacement

Edit

The Apple Magic Trackpad is a multi-touch trackpad built from smooth glass and aluminum. It’s essentially just like the trackpad on the MacBook Pro, but featuring 80% more surface area, meaning more room to scroll up and down, to pinch zoom in and out, to swipe three fingers and flip through pages, or to rotate an image with one’s fingertips. However, there are a few additions. For one, the Trackpad supports single-button and two-button commands, as well as tap-to-click and physical click. Plus there’s a new three-finger move that allows a user to drag windows. As for connectivity, the Apple Magic Trackpad connects to a Mac via Bluetooth wireless technology.
