The Phenom II X4 910e is a quad core processor from AMD, released in early 2010. This 2.6GHz processor has been designed as a low power component, rated at 65W max TDP. Compared to the 140W (TDP) AMD Phenom II X4 965, this processor uses 75 watts less power. The X4 910e features 2MB of L2 cache and 6MB of L3 cache on a 45nm chip design. In terms of motherboard compatibility, socket AM3 must be used. For memory, DDR2 (up to 1066MHz) or DDR3 (up to 1333MHz) can be used. The general consensus amongst reviewers indicates that overclocking is well supported, and uses roughly the same amount of power while doing so. Users looking for an energy efficient CPU that doesn’t sacrifice performance should find the AMD Phenom II X4 910e more than acceptable.
