The AMD Phenom II X2 555 Black Edition is a budget priced central processing unit (CPU). Although this is a budget computer part it still offers a high level of performance and power that is usually only found in higher priced components. The processor utilizes dual-cores at 3.2 Ghz, able to comfortably run multiple programs at once but also give optimal performance during gaming programs; many applications do not yet take full advantage of quad-core processors at the time of this processors release. The processor is also designed to be used, and efficiently operate, with both Windows 7 and the upcoming AMD 800-series chipsets. In addition to being the best processor type for gaming programs, the processor is intended for high performance when used in conjunction with the ATI 5000 budget series of graphics cards. The Black Edition version of this CPU also has versatile overclocking abilities for further processing performance.
