The AMD Athlon II X3 400e is a 64-bit triple core processor based on the Phenom II architecture. As part of the “Rana” family, this 45 nanometer chip is designed for the AM2+/AM3 motherboard socket and has a TDP energy rating of 45 watts. Because of the relatively low energy usage, AMD is marketing this product as part of their energy efficient lineup. The default clock frequency is set at 2.2 GHz, while the processor multiplier is locked in at 11x. In terms of L2 cache, users will find 3x 512 KB which combines into a total of 1.536 MB. The bus speed is set at 667 MHz for memory. The AMD Athlon II X3 400e was released in October, 2009.
