The AMD Athlon II X2 260 is a CPU that uses an AM3 socket on desktop motherboards. This is the top of the low cost AMD Athlon II X2 series, and share the same features as the AMD Athlon II X2 255 with only the clock set at the highest setting of 3.2 GHz. They are otherwise identical, running on 65 Watts of power and supporting 64-bit processing. The Level 2 cache is set to 2 Mb, and a 2 GHz HyperTransport bus is used to eliminate the need for a Front Side Bus. The 45 nanometer architecture is structured to use dual-core processing.
