The AMD Athlon II X2 240e is a 64-bit dual core processor based on the Phenom II architecture. As part of the “Regor” family, this 45 nanometer chip is designed for the AM2+/AM3 motherboard socket and has a TDP energy rating of 45 watts. Due to the relatively low energy consumption, this processor is being marketed as part of AMD's energy efficient line. The default clock frequency is set at 2.8 GHz, while the processor multiplier is locked at 10x. In terms of L2 cache, users will find 2x 1 MB which combines into a total of 2 MB. The bus speed is set at 533 MHz for memory. The AMD Athlon II X2 240e was released in October, 2009.
