Frequently Asked Questions
I assume the push to activate is to save battery life. It should be designed to stay constantly on when docked to the charger. Is it?
You always need to push for Tap to listen, regardless of if Tap is on the charging stand or not. There will not be an always listening mode when it is charging.
How can this be the #1 best seller in outdoor bluetooth speakers when it hasn't been released?
Simple. Its pre-ordered. Its already wanted and ordered by the buyers, but not yet delivered due to release date. AT THIS TIME, its the #1 best seller on the Amazon website. That's common with media items. As for opinions, some people are given items by Amazon to test/use/rate ahead of time.
What's the difference between this and the Echo?
The Tap is for on the go use and is NOT an always on unit, as is the Echo is always listening in the background without having to be accessed by a "Tap" to use. The Echo works with an always on feature. The Echo has other differences with the Dot in regards to the speaker system as the Dot does not have to quality of speakers as does the Echo; thereby, if you wish better audio quality, you will need to add external speaker to the Dot. The Tap is a bit smaller than the Echo and has the great functionality of being a unit that you can take with you when leaving your home or even within your home without having to have the Tap plugged in while using it, except for when it requires to be charged.
