Frequently Asked Questions
Can i download games not from steam?
Yes you can, the Alienware UI also has an option to add games that were not installed by Steam.
When it comes to performance, is this worth the extra money when compared to the Xbox One and PS4?
I would argue that performance in better than consoles in that you can set almost any game to 60 fps, 1080p. Remarkable quality jump for games like Bioshock Infinite, Valkyria Chronicles, etc. over their console counterparts. If you're not into prev. gen console titles or replaying them, and are comparing to Xbone and PS4 the performance jump may not be as dramatic. Significant cost savings, though, with Steam sales and third-party cheap Steam vouchers, plus the Alpha is a full PC on which you can install emulators, etc.
Will I need to get the higher-end model of the Alienware Alpha to play any Steam game, or will the lower end ones be able to play all of them as well?
A ALIENWARE rep told me that its comparable to the 860m maxwell which is a gpu for laptops that is exactly a 750ti. sooooo overall its great and its 500-600 dollars less than what you usually pay for the card in a laptop honestly and about the same for a desktop build.
